The session allowed me to look at myself through Paula's eyes and rediscover myself with the magic of the natural, the everyday, the innocent. Paula is one of those photographers that you are truly lucky to have the opportunity to work with. I have always been a very creative person, and art has always been an outlet to express myself. For most of my life, self-portraits and poetry have been my preferred medium. I never really met anyone I felt comfortable enough to really "see me" and connect with on an artistic level to do visual work with. That is, until I met Paula. We've done several shoots now together across several locations in Costa Rica, and each one has served as a beautiful container for expressing myself, being seen, and ultimately a catalyst for emotional release, healing and growth. In this way, I've considered working with her a lot like my art therapy, and am very grateful for her ability to witness and capture who I am at any given moment in time. Sometimes, we don't have words, and that's where Paula comes in - she allows you to express yourself visually, which sometimes, is even more powerful than words.
Paula is so much more than a photographer. She has a really unique, almost uncanny ability to see who and where you are emotionally & energetically, and help you to express that in a truly authentic way.
